Valerie's Hartka cousins still live in a small village called Pokrzydowo in Poland. It is near the larger city of Brodnica. Her great grandmother, Antonina Hartka left
there in 1891 after her marriage to Jan Tuchewicz. They traveled to
Detroit where they settled and raised their family.
Three years ago, Valerie was able to travel to Pokrzydowo to meet some of her third cousins and has shared some photos from that trip. Check them out in the photo gallery. Thanks Valerie.
