Janet, Carol, Erika and Brady visit the Mayan Riviera

Janet and Carol had a great time in the Mayan Riviera for Thanksgiving - Erika and her friend Brady joined them after Thanksgiving for diving and exploring the Mayan ruins. It was wonderful and sunny and warm!

Valerie from Michigan shared some interesting Hartka history

Valerie's Hartka cousins still live in a small village called Pokrzydowo in Poland. It is near the larger city of Brodnica. Her great grandmother, Antonina Hartka left

there in 1891 after her marriage to Jan Tuchewicz. They traveled to

Detroit where they settled and raised their family.

Three years ago, Valerie was able to travel to Pokrzydowo to meet some of her third cousins and has shared some photos from that trip. Check them out in the photo gallery. Thanks Valerie.

Rebecca accepts faculty position at Montana State University

Rebecca got some good news on her return home from the Mallon family reunion. She was asked to join the faculty at Montana State University in Bozeman and she has accepted the offer.

Chris amd wife Stacy Hartka have made Dale a grandfather with the birth of Gavin Miller Hartka on October 3, 2006. Congratulations!

After 20+ years, Lyle has moved

After a 23 year stint in Larkspur, CA Lyle and Diane have bought their dream house in Nevada City, CA. They offically moved out of their old house today and will start moving in this weekend. Pictures to follow.

I believe there is a doctor in the house

On Sunday, May 6, Dales daughter, Rebecca Hartka performed her final requirement recital for her Ph. D and on Sunday, May 20th at 4 pm received her Doctorate of Musical Arts Diploma and is now officially Dr. Hartka. Congratulations Rebecca!

Ashley Hartka débuted a masterfully choreographed performance at the University in Colorado at Boulder in February and received her master's degree this Spring.

Kaitlyn Hartka arrived on October 14, 2004. Kaitlyn finally found her feet and enjoys talking to anyone who will listen. Currently Uncle Dave's Lamb is her favorite audience. She is also a big lover of food which would explain why she has such a large belly.
